“Building my business in Detroit is a way to give back to the community that has raised me. Coming to America as a refugee from the Vietnam War at the age of 8, I grew up in eastside Detroit. I went to elementary school, middle school, and high school in Detroit, so when it came to the decision of college, it was simple to stay in Detroit.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and I’ve noticed all the positive changes in Detroit that have impacted me, which inspires me to be a part of the community and give back. Opening Polished Lounge in Detroit is my dream of bringing a touch of polished to everyone in the city.”
